US Strategy is a key component within NatWest Markets US in serving our institutional and corporate customers, both internally and externally. Embedded within US Rates and FX sales, US Strategy works closely with the sales and trading desk in delivering high quality publications and trade ideas to our clients. The group is highly client focused, with daily interactions including in person meetings.
NatWest Markets US is looking for an EM Strategist to focus on LATAM FX and rates. This high visibility position will report to the Head of Strategy Americas, in close coordination with the EMFX and rates trading desk. The strategist will have immediate visibility and ownership of the space and the market calls within it, and will likely see a high level of internal and external client interaction locally and globally. This is part of a larger buildout of the EM product globally.
Responsibilities will include modeling, analysis and publishing regular and ad-hoc strategy notes. The strategist will be responsible in assisting sales with generating LATAM EMFX and rates trade ideas in conjunction with the trading desk. The ability to communicate well, both written and orally, is a must as there will be frequent client interactions (internally and externally), as well as media interaction, and candidates must have excellent knowledge of capital markets and quantitative skills.
• Candidate should be a bright, hardworking, self-driven individual with strong verbal and written communication skills
• At least 2-5 years experience in rates/fx strategy or similar role.
• Strong knowledge in the LATAM EM space.
• Ability to communicate in a clear, concise fashion is vital to the success of this role.
• Advance degree is preferred, but not required.
• A strong team player with the ability to fit into the culture of the team.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong relationship building and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Bloomberg, Microsoft Office, understanding of technical and economic data a plus
