  • This role in the NatWest Markets Data Management Office will make you responsible for developing and governing our data and information strategy, and so have a key hand in driving business decisions and growth
  • Join a new team being formed in Manchester as part of the NWM vision to become a data driven organisation, as you lead in ensuring that data across all area of NWM is treated as a critical business asset, ad that decisions can be made based on accurate and high quality information
  • You'll be tasked with explaining the strategic value of data and its important role as a business asset and revenue driver to executives, employees, and customers
  • The role is available at VP level

What you'll do

This role will see you developing data procedures and policies, and working closely with a number of departments to collect, prepare, organise, protect and analyse data assets, while making sure we meet industry best practice. You'll lead inter-disciplinary teams, improve and streamline data systems within the company, and drive strong data governance and innovation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with data domain owners to ensure compliance to the data management policy
  • Being accountable for identifying, agreeing, and governing critical data across your data domain
  • Improving awareness of data governance principals across NatWest Markets
  • Producing MI relating to ongoing risk assessment, controls and compliance to the data management, to help guide decision making
  • Owning data quality issues that relating to your data domain, and partnering with data quality teams to prioritise and remediate

The skills you'll need

This role is suitable for someone with a thorough understanding of the NatWest Markets business and data strategy, and the proven ability to design and implement data strategies and systems. You'll demonstrate the ability to oversee the collection, storage, management, and protection of data, and with the commercial mindset to identify where to cut costs and increase revenue.  You'll have a deep understanding of either Trade & Transaction data or Instrument Reference Data gained from working in or with these functions in a Finance environment.

You'll also bring:

  • Knowledge of relevant applications, big data solutions, and tools
  • Strong communication skills, allowing you compellingly present the status, value, and importance of data collection to executive members and colleagues
  • The ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
